French architect, Christian Hauvette, was born in 1944. He studied under the philosopher Roland Barthes before going on to train as an architect. Since 1980 he has headed his own office in Paris. Today, Hauvette belongs to one of France's leading architects. His architecture is characterised by a clear, constructive purpose but which is highly expressive and his use of Jean Prouve's theories are much in evidence.
